
Sukhada Tatke is an Indian writer and journalist based in Edinburgh. Her essays have appeared in a variety of prestigious literary publications such as The Rumpus and Literary Hub in the US, Commonwealth Writers’ adda in the UK, Portside Review in Australia, and Verseville and India Quarterly in India. Her features have been published in Fifty Two, Scroll, Wire, Al Jazeera, Wired, BBC, The Juggernaut, Atlas Obscura and so on. She writes on history, politics, society, immigration, grief and the ideas of home and belonging. Her work has been featured on the Longform, Longreads and Browser reading lists, among others.
She is a recipient of several awards and fellowships including the RedInk, Laadli and PoleStar awards for journalism, the Sanskriti Pratishthan’s Prabha Dutt Fellowship and the Indo-German Media Ambassadors Fellowship. She was also a South Asia Speaks fiction fellow. Previously she worked for The Times of India and The Hindu.
Her debut nonfiction book will be represented by A Suitable Agency. It is a personal and political exploration of home, shaped by her experiences across four countries and the broader societal and geopolitical considerations.
