In April 2023, Anurag Maloo experienced a devastating fall on Mount Annapurna that could have killed him, but didn’t. Instead, he remained trapped alone for over 72 hours inside a deep Himalayan glacial crevasse, as the world watched him defy the odds to emerge alive.
Against all expectations, what followed was an extraordinary journey from the edge of death back to life: multiple surgeries, amputations, months of rehabilitation, and the rebuilding of body, mind, identity, and purpose. His endurance, resilience and community gave him a second chance at life, one he chose to dedicate in service of a larger mission.
An internationally recognised mountaineer, entrepreneur, community builder, and impact leader, Anurag has spent over 15 years building startup ecosystems and advancing innovation, sustainability, and social impact across the globe. Recognised as a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader 2025, he is widely known as “The Miracle Man” and “Annapurna’s Anurag.” His voice and story has been featured on TEDx stages, as well as in leading newspapers, magazines, podcasts, and multilingual media outlets around the world.
Anurag Maloo’s forthcoming memoir will be represented by A Suitable Agency. More than a survival story, it will chart Anurag’s transformational journey of hope and faith, where his very survival launched him into building a reinvented life shaped by extraordinary new ambitions and a responsibility to serve others, protect glaciers and mountains, and transform pain into purpose through The Voice of Glaciers Foundation.
