
A Suitable Agency is representing Paul Zacharia, one of the most celebrated voices in contemporary Indian literature. He has authored over 50 works, including short stories, novellas, essays, travelogues, children’s books, and film scripts. Many of these works have been translated into English and German. His acclaimed novella Bhaskara Pattelarum Ente Jeevithavum was adapted into Vidheyan, a landmark film by Adoor Gopalakrishnan.
Zacharia spent two decades in New Delhi working in publishing and media, before returning to Kerala as part of the founding team of the Asianet satellite TV network. He scripted Malayalam television’s first full-length sitcom, Kairali Vilasam Lodge, and co-anchored Patravishesham, Indian television’s first review show on the print media. His columns have appeared in Malayala Manorama, onmanorama.com, and major publications including India Today, The Hindu, The Indian Express, Outlook, and Caravan.
Zacharia has journeyed through more than 50 countries, chronicling his experiences in Malayalam travelogues. A recipient of over 30 literary honours, including the Sahitya Akademi Award and the Ezhuthachan Puraskaram, he lives in Thiruvananthapuram.
