Prathyush Parasuraman is a cultural critic and writer with words in Film Companion, The Hindu, Verve, Firstpost and News9. He writes ‘Counter Culture’, a column in the bi-weekly Frontline magazine, on cinema, literature and the broader zeitgeist. He is also the curator for Cinema House, a monthly film programme at the G5A Foundation for Contemporary Culture. He has aided Parmesh Shahani in the research for Queeristan: LGBTQ Inclusion In The Indian Workplace and currently assists Devdutt Pattanaik in his projects related to Indian arts, culture, and heritage.

While his monograph on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s cinema is out now, as On Beauty: The Cinema of Sanjay Leela Bhansali, he is now working on the groundbreaking work of two other great filmmakers—Mani Ratnam and Mira Nair.
